Introduction

Sukoon ("the App") is developed by ezilab. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with trust and transparency, in accordance with Islamic principles of Amanah (trustworthiness).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have regarding your data when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: email address, display name, and profile photo when you create an account.
• Authentication credentials: securely managed through Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google Sign-In).
• User-generated content: prayer tracking data, Quran reading progress, dhikr counts, tasbih counts, journal entries, habit tracking data, and bookmarks.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device location: used solely for calculating accurate prayer times and Qibla direction.
• Device information: device type and operating system version for app compatibility purposes.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• We do not collect browsing history, contacts, or call logs.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
• We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide core app functionality: prayer times, Quran reading, dhikr tracking, and other worship features.
• To sync supported worship data across devices. Account creation is optional; synchronization starts when you sign in.
• To calculate prayer times based on your location using established Islamic calculation methods.
• To send prayer reminders and notifications that you explicitly enable.
• To maintain and improve the App's performance and reliability.

3. Data Storage & Security

Sukoon follows a privacy-first, local-first architecture:

• All worship data is stored locally on your device by default.
• Account creation is optional. When you sign in, supported worship data and settings are synchronized to Firebase (Google Cloud). Your saved location is not included in cloud synchronization.
• Sensitive credentials are stored using secure device storage (encrypted keychain/keystore).
• Data transmitted to Firebase or other service providers is encrypted in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services solely for the stated purposes:

• Firebase Authentication (Google): For secure account management and sign-in.
• Firebase Firestore (Google): For optional cloud data synchronization.
• Firebase Storage (Google): For profile photo storage.
• Google Sign-In: As an optional authentication provider.
• Open-Meteo Geocoding: To return matching locations when you manually search for a city.
• AlQuran Cloud, EveryAyah, and audio hosting providers: To retrieve Quran content or stream recitation and adhan audio when requested.

These services are governed by their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

• Location: To calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction for your area. You can use the App without granting location access by manually selecting your city.
• Notifications: To send prayer time reminders. This is entirely optional.
• Photo Library: Only when you choose to upload a profile photo.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the App or manually clear app data.
• Cloud-synced data is retained as long as your account is active.
• You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. This permanently removes all your data from our servers, including authentication records, Firestore data, and uploaded files.
• Account deletion is irreversible. We cannot recover deleted data.

7. Children's Privacy

Sukoon is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal data.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Withdraw consent for optional features (notifications, cloud sync, location).
• Use the App in guest mode without providing any personal information.

9. Islamic Commitment

In the spirit of Amanah (trust) and Ihsan (excellence), we commit to:

• Never using your worship data for commercial purposes or sharing it with advertisers.
• Treating your spiritual data (prayers, Quran progress, dhikr) with the utmost respect and confidentiality.
• Being transparent about our data practices and promptly informing you of any changes.
• Ensuring the App content (Quran text, hadith, duas) is sourced from authentic Islamic references.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to change or update this Privacy Policy at any time, at our sole discretion. Changes will take effect immediately upon being made available within the App or on this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
